Microsoft Build 15254.158 (KB4073117) for Windows 10 Mobile with Spectre & Meltdown Fixes

Microsoft today released a new Windows 10 Mobile cumulative update Build 15254.158 (10.0.15254.158) to everyone on Fall Creators update. Microsoft mentions it as the cumulative update KB4073117 for Mobile devices.

Currently, other than Android and iOS devices, there are a number of mobile products, which face the threat of “Meltdown” and “Spectre” for processor security vulnerabilities. The flaws which using the system’s vulnerabilities, some malicious apps can steal secrets from users’ phones, including accounts and passwords for the access to bank financial apps.

For that flaws, Microsoft recently launched a cumulative update to all Windows 10 phones, with a new patch, KB4073117, and more importantly, whether or not the user is registered with the preview experience can receive the patch.

The protected objects include IE browser, Microsoft Scripting engine, Microsoft Edge Browser, Windows graphics, Windows kernel, Linux Windows subsystem, and Windows SMB Server security update.

You can check the update availability by going to Settings–>Update & Security–>Windows update–>Check for updates.

Before you install the upgrade, please make sure your device is connecting to Wi-Fi, and the battery is at full power.
